Day 1

Imagine the sun is shining brightly, warming the fall air.  The wind is blowing her hair this way and that through the car window as she marks off the miles of her road trip, just begun.  She smiles and relaxes into the rhythm of the asphalt highway and dreams of days to come filled with fun and the meeting of new friends.

Um…. Not quite. In reality, the last couple of weeks has been filled with physical challenges as I’ve learned to manage my teardrop and I’m exhausted as the afternoon of launch day wanes.  Neighbors have wanted a tour of the trailer.  Children have come to say goodbye.  She has once again been challenged by backing up, a long way this time, and I am finally just plain exhausted.  I manage to get away from the condo parking lot but I don’t get far.  Thank goodness for merchants who cater to travelers and allow parking overnight.  I stop and climb into my mobile bed; exhausted sleep envelopes me, quite unbidden.

This gallery has a few from my trial camping trip and some early interior shots of the trailer as I was working to get the fridge and the hot water heater going for the first time.
